Justice Subhash B Adi of Karnataka High Court will pronounce this afternoon the orders on the anticipatory bail plea of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and his kin in the illegal mining case. Besides Yeddyurappa, his sons B Y Raghavendra, MP and B Y Vijendra and son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar have also sought advance bail after a CBI court rejected their petitions on June 13. The CBI is probing the charges on the apex court directive, based on recommendations of the CEC set up by it to look into illegal mining. Meanwhile in a policital development, the MLAs loyal to Yeddyurappa have once again demanded for leadership change in the state and asked Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda to convene legislative party meeting.
Just when people presumed that internal feud within BJP has subsided, the demand for leadership change has raised its head once again. Yeddyurappa himself has demanded for legislative party meeting. Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda has however said that the meeting cannot be convened as there is no clearance for it from party national President. The court verdict in the afternoon is likely to have political ramifications within BJP.
