Illegal mining case: CBI interrogates Reddy

CBI has begun interrogating former Karnataka Tourism Minister G Janardhan Reddy in the illegal mining case. PTI says, the interrogation began this morning a day after Reddy was remanded to CBI custody till March 12. Additional Civil and Sessions Court Judge B M Angadi remanded him to CBI custody.

Reddy and 20 others are facing charges for their alleged involvement in illegal mining. CBI filed an FIR against them in October last.

Associated Mining Corporation and Deccan Mining Syndicate owned by Reddy and his wife Aruna Lakshmi have
been facing probe over charges of illegal mining. Both the firms were also involved in illegal transport of iron ore.

Reddy was produced before the Special CBI court in Bangalore on Friday amid tight security.
