Two Multi-storey apartments, namely H2O Holy Faith and Alfa Serene constructed illegally in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone norms at Maradu, near Kochi were demolished successfully today using emulsion explosion. The trial run of the demolition was carried out yesterday to ensure safety and recovery operations , including the entry of fire tenders and ambulances to the sites.<br />'' <br />'' The demolition of the building was warranted following a Supreme order. The apex court had issued an ultimatum to the State government to raze the building on May last year. The demolitions were carried out at 11.17 AM and 11.42 AM respectively. Another two apartments Jain Coral Cave and Golden Kayaloram will be demolished tomorrow. Meanwhile , the Ernakulam district authorities have taken all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of people living in the neighboring areas. They were evacuated to safer locations and vehicle traffic has been blocked ahead of demolition. The District authorities have clamped prohibitionery orders in the evacuation area from 8 AM to 4 PM on both days. Two more apartments are slated to be demolished tomorrow.<br />''  <br />
