The Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, IITM, has launched an application to enhance public awareness on the hazards of air pollution. It will enable the citizens to check air quality on their own. Known as SAFAR-Air, the application provides site-specific information on air quality and the weather forecast for the next 24 hours in Delhi, Pune and Mumbai. Minister of State for Earth Sciences Y.S.Chowdary said this in a written answer in the Rajya Sabha today. The data quality of the device is certified by the International Standards Organisation, ISO, he said.
