The 31st India international Trade Fair which is on at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi is now open for general public from today after five busy business days.
The fair which has been started from 14th of this month, will conclude on 27th November. The Theme of the fair is Indian Handicrafts- “The Magic of the Gifted Hands”, Indian Trade Promotion Organisation, ITPO which is organising the event, is expecting over one million people to visit the fair.
Special arrangements have been made by the ITPO officials for the convenience of the visitors. For general public, entry will be allowed from 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM.
Entry tickets will be available at Pragati Maidan Counters as well as designated metro stations. AIR correspondent reports that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and Delhi Transport Corporation have made elaborative arrangements for commuters so that they can easily visit to the fair.
People are thronging to the fair in large numbers to visit various stalls of the state pavilions. Handicraft products displayed at stalls are the centre of attractions of the visitors.
Apart from that, products made of jute, khadi, leathers and woods , gems and pearls are also attracting the visitors. Over 6,000 exhibitors from 27 countries including Pakistan, Afghanistan, Thailand, China are participating in the event.
The authorities have made elaborate security arrangements, including installation of close-circuit TVs and X-ray baggage scanners. Delhi police has also advised the people for using public transport to avoid traffic jams.
