Indian Institute of Technology Patna will be part of innovation and research for 5G technology in India. Announcing this in Patna, Union Communications and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said IIT Patna would work on the project along with IIT Bombay, IIT Madras and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. <br/><br/>Mr.Prasad said the Centre had already allocated 36 crore rupees for innovation and research in 5G that would now be shared among the four institutes. He also announced to include the IIT Patna among super computing research centres in India. <br/><br/>He said the government had plan to set up 42 such centres for which it had initially allocated 5000 crore. Super Computing Research Centre will facilitate central processing Unit (CPU), intensive research on developing powerful computers for computing and data processing purpose.
