To enable research in medical technology, IIT Kharagpur will send its engineering students to study at the Indian Council of Medical Research. Prof. P P Chakrabarti, Director of IIT-KGP said that the two institutes have signed a collaboration which will facilitate student exchange programmes and promote discussion and collaboration between faculty and students. <br/><br/>He said that this collaboration will facilitate doctors to study in an institution known for its excellence in engineering and technology and engineers to study at ICMR thus providing a platform for interdisciplinary academics and resulting in the integrated research with the objective of addressing the healthcare needs of the country.
