IIT alumni should support in field of innovation & research work: Prez

President Ram Nath Kovind has said that alumni of IIT should support in the field of innovation and research work of the Institution.<br />''<br />'' President was addressing the annual convocation of Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) today. He said that alumni may participate in special courses. Mr. Kovind said that IIT administration can change the rules if necessary in this regard. President said that it is their responsibility to help deprived people of the society.<br />''<br />''President also presented awards to students on this occasion. Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank',Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat were present in  the convocation ceremony. Our correspondent reports that a total of 2029 degrees have been awarded by the institution this year out of which 1,018 are for undergraduate recipients, 702 for Post Graduate and 309 for PhD degrees recipients, respectively.<span style="color: #222222;">.</span><br />
