A delegation of Indian Information Service (IIS) Group B Association today called on, Minister of State for Personnel and Training, Dr Jitendra Singh and sought his intervention for timely promotions and cadre review. In a memorandum submitted to Dr Singh, the delegation highlighted that the Indian Information Service is an essential component in the Government's Information and Broadcasting mechanism. <br/><br/>They said, cadre review of IIS group B has not taken place for several years though normally it is expected to be conducted every five years. The memorandum also mentioned that the IIS Group – B officers face slow career progression. <br/><br/>According to an official release,Dr Singh assured the delegation that whatever could be feasible within the rules and guidelines of the DoPT, will be done for them. He said, the Government always tries to maintain the morale and initiative of the officials to enable them to serve the Government and the public to the best of their ability.
