IIMC to launch Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Marathi Journalism

Indian Institute of Mass Communication is all set to launch the first ever Post-Graduate Diploma Course in Marathi Journalism from its Western Regional Campus at Amravati in Vidarbha region with effect from August 01, 2017.<br/><br/>Director General of the premier media training institute Mr. K.G. Suresh made the official announcement in this regard at a press conference in Nagpur today.<br/><br/>Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Suresh informed that the introduction of this course is aimed at providing skilled manpower to the burgeoning regional language media in the state and expected to give a boost to Marathi Journalism. Apart from the important journalistic aspects, the new course would also have components of Marathi Language and History of Marathi Journalism.<br/><br/>The aspirants would have to clear All India Entrance Examination for this purpose. The last date of submission of applications would be May 14 and the date of Written Examination, scheduled to be held at Mumbai and Nagpur, would be May 27. Subsequently, the interviews of the shortlisted candidates would be conducted at Amravati, he said.<br/><br/>Dwelling upon the future plans, Mr. Suresh said that IIMC plans to start the National Centre of Excellence in Animation and Gaming in association with the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industries at Film City in Mumbai shortly.
