The Indian Institute of Horticulture Research (IIHR) promoted seed portal has received overwhelming response from farmers across the country. This portal was inaugurated two months back by Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare minister Narendra Singh Tomar. AIR Correspondent reports that the Hesaraghatta based Indian Institute of Horticulture Research near Bengaluru had introduced this seed portal in association with Yono krishi app of State Bank of India.<br />” <br />”The farmers can now go to any SBI bank and order high yielding, disease resistant seeds produced by the Horticulture Research Institute. The Director of the Institute Dr.M R Dinesh informed AIR that the farmers across the country are now ordering quality seeds to their door steps. The portal promoted by the Indian Institute of Horticulture Research has bridged the gap between the research institute and farmers and made it possible to reach research findings to the farmer’s field.<br />
