In the ongoing International Film Festival in Goa, the Danish film A Better World is to be screened in the competition section today. In this section, eighteen films from around the world are competing for the prestigious Golden Peacock award. Film buffs will get to watch 34 movies including nine in the cine of the world section on the fifth day of the festival. In retrospective section, Monsoon Wedding directed by Mira Nair will be another highlight of the day. AIR correspondent reports that, Even as eminent film personalities are getting red carpet welcome at the 41st International film festival, it is providing international platform for new technology and marketing of movies. As a permanent venue Goa has emerged as a film destination of the world. Movie experts are of the view that over a period of time the festival has made Indian movies popular world over giving it new market. Inclusion of movies from all continents has also improved the profile of the festival. Screening of unique rare films and documentaries on Indian classical dances by different media units of Information & Broadcasting ministry is also widely appreciated.
