II Edition of Formula One Indian Grand Prix begins today

The second edition of the Formula One Indian Grand Prix kicks off at the Buddha International circuit in Greater Noida today. The first two practice sessions are scheduled for today — first at 10 AM and the second at 2 PM. The third practice session will be held at 11 AM tomorrow, followed by Qualifying at 2 PM. The race is slated for Sunday at 3 PM.Defending champion and the winner of the first edition Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel of Germany, Ferrari's Spaniard Fernando Alonso, McLaren's Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher of Mercedes and other top F1 drivers are all set to enthrall the audiences and will be eagerly awaiting to burn their tyres at a speed of more than 300 km/hr to finish at the podium of the Indian Grand Prix.All eyes will be on Vettel, who began the 2012 season on a disppointing note, but with victories in the last three Grand Prix races, snatched the drivers' championship lead from Alonso.Meanwhile, India's first Formula One motor racing driver, Narain Karthikeyan, insisted that his future remains in the sport. He hoped to have the best finish of the year this weekend at the Indian Grand Prix. Karthikeyan currently plays for HRT, which is a Spanish Formula One team founded by former driver Adrian Campos.
