The new terminal at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi was inaugurated this morning by the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh with National Advisory Council Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. The actual operations for international services will begin on the 16th of this month. <br/><br/>Touted as world's largest and most modern airport in the world, it can cater to 34 million passengers annually. The terminal has a capacity to handle 12,800 bags per hour with 6.4 km of conveyor belts.
