Filmmakers at the International Film Festival of India, IFFI, have said that the abuse of technology is the main challenge before the industry, and not its use. <br/><br/>Participating in a discussion on Saturday in Panaji, filmmaker Amartya Bhattcharaya said, performing art is very primary because technology is never a replacement for human feelings. <br/><br/>Film and Television Institute of India faculty Deb Kamal Ganguly said that the important aspect in films is acting, and technology is its supplementary part.<br/><br/>Speaking at a panel discussion on digital space, veteran filmmaker Shekhar Kapur said, in order to be an iconic filmmaker over a period of time, one needs to develop the idea of gatekeepers. <br/><br/>He said, in today's time, digital platforms such as Amazon and Netflix are the new gatekeepers. Director Nachiket Pantvaidya said, the digital medium has enabled home delivery of cinema.<br/><br/>Renowned wildlife documentary filmmaker Mike Pandey addressed the media at IFFI this evening. <br/><br/>Highlighting the emergence of documentaries in India, he said, value based films and documentaries should be introduced in the mainstream. He said, documentaries are the most effective way of presenting the truth and are devoid of any razzmatazz.
