<span style="color: #222222;">IFFI is celebrating India at 75 this year. Baboo Band Baaja in Marathi and Kaaka Muthai in Tamil were included in the schedule today as part of Azaadi ka Amrit MAhotsav. The Marathi movie, Godavari directed by Nikhil Mahajan is the highlight of the day at the 52nd annual International Film Festival of India. <br />”<br />”The film Godavari is competing for the Golden Peacock Awards category this year. It tells the story of a family living on the banks of river Godavari in Nashik.&nbsp; It had its world premiere at the 2021 Vancouver International Film Festival in October. Godavari along with Bengali movie Nitantoi Sahaj Saral by Satrabit Paul were showcased today in the Indian Panorama Feature section.<br />”<br />” In the non Feature section of the Indian Panorama, two hindi movies were showcased namely Bablu Babylon se and Ganga Putra. Love Songs for Tough Guys in French, Anais in Love also in French and Bergman Island in English were part of World Panorama this morning. In the Retrospective section, Russian movies, The first Teacher and Paradise, both directed by Andrei Konchalovsky were shown to cine lovers. Another Russian movie shown today, T-34 was part of the Country of focus category.<br />”<br />”Lifetime Achievement award winner at IFFI 2021 Martin Scorsese's English movie Goodfellas is being shown here in Panjim this afternoon. The film narrates the rise and fall of a mob associate and his friends and family. It was written by Nicholas Pileggi and Scorsese. To prepare for the roles in the film, De Niro and others often spoke with Pileggi, who shared research material.<br />”<br />” Improvisation and ad-libbing came out of rehearsals wherein Scorsese gave the actors freedom to do whatever they wanted. The director made transcripts of these sessions, took the lines he liked most and put them into a revised script.&nbsp; Celebrated Israeli writer-director Nadav Lapid's Ahed's Knee is his fourth feature and co-winner of the Jury Prize at Cannes was shown today.</span><br />
