IFFI 2010 closing today

The 41st International film festival of India is coming to a close in Goa this evening. Minister of state for Information & Broadcasting Chowdhary Mohan Jatua will be the chief guest . Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamath and eminent film personalites including actor Saif Ali Khan will grace the closing ceremony. AIR correspondent R.K. Pillai reports from Goa that eleven days of festivity of world class movies is coming to an end in Panaji with a glittering closing ceremony. French film The Princess of Montpensier is the closing movie of the festival. With inclusion of films from all continents this edition has transformed the profile of the festival. About 300 films from sixtyone countries , inclusion of non fiction feature , animation and digital films were some of the highlights. With prize money of 90 lakh rupees in different categories IFFI has emerged as one of the richest film festivals in the world. Apart from showcasing the best of films, the festival provided the right platform to explore new markets for Indian movies.
