In Iraq, one person has been killed several other have been wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in eastern Baghdad today. Voice of Iraq news agency quoting security sources has reported that it was the third explosion of its kind in the city today. Earlier a roadside IED ripped through the area of al-Kamaliya, eastern Baghdad, today leaving two civilians wounded. In a separate incident a civilian man was killed and five others wounded when a car rigged with explosives went off in southern Baghdad. The mounting acts of violence took place as the government formation crisis is still going on amidst differences flaring up among the three top political blocs over the prime minister post. They also come five days after U.S. combat troops withdrew from Iraq while 50,000 still remain in the war-troubled oil-rich country for consultancy and training purposes.
