Idul-Azha or 'Eid-e-Qurban' to be celebrated tomorrow

Idul-Azha or 'Eid-e-Qurban' will be celebrated in the country tomorrow with all the fervour and gaiety. This is a festival of 'Offering' or 'Qurbani' and is celebrated by the Muslims on the tenth day of the last month of Islamic calender 'Zil-hijja'.

AIR Lucknow Correspondent reports that Muslim families are busy in making hectic preparations to celebrate the festival. Chowk, Nakhas, Aminabad areas of Lucknow are witnessing heavy rush of buyers.

This being the festive season of other communities as well, markets are full with the attractive offers and its takers. At many places in the city 'goat markets' have cropped up to facilitate the buyers.

In Lucknow and all over the state, special prayer of Eid ul Azha will be offered in different mosques and Eidgahs at different times ranging from 8.00 am to 11.00 am on Saturday.

The Governor B.L Joshi and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has expressed good wishes and greetings to all the citizens of the state.

Mohammad Khaliq Khan, convener of Hilal Committee of Faizabad, has appealed to the citizens of Faizabad to offer the Eid ul Azha prayers at their nearest mosques instead of going to the Eidgah. He said, this will help revive the peace and harmony in Faizabad, a city of 'Ganga Jamuni Culture'.
