The icy cold continues unabated in Punjab and Haryana with the minimum temperature in most parts of the region dipping to four degrees Celsius below normal. A thick blanket of fog engulfed several areas of the neighbouring states. In Punjab, Amritsar continued to be the coldest place with mercury dipping to 1.2 degree Celsius, three notches below normal. Karnal in Haryana braved a low of 2.6 degree Celsius. While minimum temperature at Hisar settled at a low of 2.7 degree Celsius. Patiala in Punjab shivered at a low of two degrees Celsius which is four notches below normal.
