Zimbabwe chased down the target of 286 to beat UAE by four wickets with two overs remaining, in a see-saw match played at Nelson, Newzealand. In a pool B fixture chasing moderate target Zimbabwe started with brisk pace. However, UAE's controlled bowling pushed Zimbabwe on back foot as they were reduced to 167 for five in 33rd over. Then Craig Ervine and Sean William carved out 83 of just 62 balls putting pressure off the Zimbabwe and that to UAE. With seven overs remaining and only 36 runs to be made, Zimbabwe played smartly and finished the game two overs early at 286 for 7. Earlier, sent in to bat, UAE posted 285 for 7 courtesy Shaiman Anwar's battling 67. Khurram Khan and Krishna Chandran also played a valuable part in posting a formidable total. For Zimbabwe, pacer Tendai Chatara bagged the maximum of 3 wickets.
