West Indies have registered a huge margin victory of 150 runs over Pakistan in a Pool B game played at Christchurch in ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.After a very long wait and an all around team effort by West Indies produced one of the most convincing victories in the World Cup. In this important fixture Pakistan was at the receiving end only. Asked to bat first, the Caribbean team constructed a formidable total of 310. Having stumbled to 167 for 3 in 36 overs, they swashbuckled 143 in the remaining 14 overs. Half centuries from Denesh Ramdin and Lendl Simmons solidified the score and anchor role was played by Andre Russell as he thwarted unbeaten 42 of just 13 balls. Chasing a challenging 311 for win, Pakistan had one of the worst starts. They were reduced to 4 for just one run. Jerome Taylor was the cause as he removed top three batsman in his first 2 overs. Umar Akmal with 59 and Shoaib Maqsood scoring 50 played the complimentary innings, while rest of the team fizzled out at a total of 160 in 39 overs. Man of the Match Andre Russell starred with both bat and ball, and was adjudged man of the match for his performance. Meanwhile, the other match between co hosts Australia and Bangladesh abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain handing disappointment to many.
