With this win, Bangladesh is level with Australia in terms of points in Pool A and are placed 4th. Scotland set Bangladesh a target of 319 runs. Bangladesh scored 322 for the loss of four wickets with 11 balls to spare. Tamim Iqbal scored 95, the most for any Bangladesh batsman in a World Cup game. Scotland, though a non-Test team, could not be easily dismissed. Kyle Coetzer of Scotland scored a magnificent knock of 156, the highest World Cup score by any batsman from any non-Test playing team. However, despite playing very well, they lost their chance to win a World Cup match.
