ICC Women's World Cup: India to take on England in Final in London

India will take on England today in the Final of ICC Women's World Cup at Lords Cricket Ground in London. The match will begin at 3 PM Indian Time. All India Radio will broadcast live bi-lingual commentary of the match from 2:30 PM onwards. This can be heard on FM Gold, Rajdhani Channel and on national hook-up.This is Indian eves second appearance in a World Cup Final, they had finished as runners up in the 2005 edition. The Mithali Raj-led squad crossed their biggest hurdle in the semifinals as they beat the defending and six-time champions Australia by 36 runs.En route to the summit clash, it has been a team performance for India. Mithali Raj has led from the front with 392 runs she is the second-highest run-getter in this World Cup.Smriti Mandhana began the fireworks at the top of the order in the beginning of the tournament and Harmanpreet Kaur took it to a different level with her incredible power-packed 171-run knock against Australia in the semifinals while Veda Krishnamurthy's late onslaught converted a middling total into a daunting one in final league fixture against New Zealand. On the bowling front, Jhulan Goswami and Rajeshwari Gayakwad have been able to contain the rival batters.The other finalist, England, are on a winning spree as they have won seven straight games to enter the summit clash. The only loss they had was to India in the tournament opener.If India win today, they will become only the fourth team to do so with England, Australia and New Zealand sharing all the preceding titles.Indian eves are on the verge of making history as it was the historic Lord's cricket ground, where the men's team took its game-changing world title in 1983 with an upset win over the invincible West Indies.
