ICC WC: India take on Netherlands in New Delhi today

In the ongoing Cricket World Cup India are going to play against Netherlands at Feroz Shah Kotla ground New Delhi in a short while from now. With two wins and a tie, India will go out for a big win today to reassure themselves a quarterfinal berth. AIR correspondent adds that although the Netherlands are considered the underdogs, there is no room for complacency for India either. Barring England, all other teams in group 'B' including India are yet to play three more matches each which will eventually finalise the line up for the knock-out stage. And considering that India will have to face no mean sides from West Indies and South Africa next in the fixture ahead, the co-hosts need to go all out for a big margin win today as the heroics of the Dutch side against England in the early part of the tournament are worthy reminders that rankings and previous performances have no bearing on an upset result in a game of cricket. With the Indian bowling attack yet to make an impact on the rival teams in the tournament so far, the Netherlands batting strength spearheaded by their current World Cup centurian Ryan Doeschate is capable of giving the Indian side a run for their status in world cricket, should the likes of Tom Cooper, captain Peter Borren and Mudassar Bukhari click for the Dutch side today. Supposing the other prospective teams, Bangladesh and Ireland achieve better results in the group 'B' hereon, a focused and more responsible showing by the Indian side on their home ground today is but the need of the hour, to say the least.
