India have become the first team to book their place in the semi-finals of the on-going ICC World Twenty20 tournament. In their third, Group Two match of the event at Mirpur today, they recorded a comfortable eight wicket victory over hosts Bangladesh. Set to score 139 runs for a win, India surpassed the target by making 141 for 2 in 18.3 overs. Earlier, put in to bat, Bangladesh made 138 for 7 in the stipulated twenty overs.India's Ravichandran Ashwin was declared Man of the Match for his exceptional bowling figures of two for 15 in four overs.With three wins out of three encounters, India top Group Two with Six points. India's last-four berth is their first since the inaugural edition in South Africa back in 2007. Earlier, in the first match of the day at the same venue, West Indies defeated Australia by six wickets. Chasing a target of 179, West Indies scored the required runs in 19.4 overs. Earlier, electing to bat after winning the toss, Australia made 178 for 8 in the stipulated 20 overs.With two wins and a defeat, the West Indies have four points. Australia and Bangladesh have not yet opened their account in the points tally in the Group. Pakistan have two points after playing two games.
