ICC T-20 World Cup: Lanka in final, India play in 2nd semis vs S. Africa today

Sri Lanka defeated defending champions West Indies by 27 runs via the Duckworth Lewis method to storm into the final of the ICC Twenty-20 Cricket World Cup. At Mirpur in Bangladesh yesterday, batting first Sri Lanka scored an impressive 160 for six in their twenty overs. Chasing the target of 161, West Indies were 80 for four in 13.5 overs when a storm followed by heavy downpour ruled out any chances of a game. The Duckworth-Lewis par score at that point of time was 107 and the Caribbeans were well short of the target. In the second Semi-final today, India will face South Africa at the same venue. All India Radio will broadcast live commentary of the match from 6 P.M. onwards. In the Women's section of the tournament, Australia have entered the final. In the first semi-final at Mirpur yesterday, they defeated the West Indies by 8 runs. England will face South Africa in the other semifinal today.
