The International Cricket Council or the ICC has suspended Caribbean off spinner Shane Shillingford from bowling in international cricket due to illegal action. It means he can not bowl in the international cricket with immediate effect. The suspension will be valid until he submits himself to a fresh analysis, which concludes that he has remedied his bowling action. In a statement released in Dubai, the governing body of international cricket said that an independent biomechanical analysis has found the bowling action of West Indies off spinner to be illegal. The analysis revealed that for both his standard off break delivery and his doosra, the amount of elbow extension in his bowling action is more than 15 degrees level as permitted under the ICC regulations. In case of another Windies off spinner Marlon Samuels, the ICC has ruled that his standard off break delivery was bowled with a legal action ,but that his quicker deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance and hence were considered illegal. The ICC has allowed him to continue to bowl his off breaks but not his quicker deliveries until he submits himself to a fresh analysis, which concludes that he has remedied his bowling action. The two spinners were reported upon during the recently held Mumbai cricket test against India by the two field umpires ,TV Umpire and the Match referee
