In Bangladesh, the ICC President AHM Mustafa Kamal has announced his resignation. He was talking to reporters a short while ago at the Dhaka airport on his return from Melbourne. Mr. Kamal has announced his resignation following the controversy that he was not allowed to hand over the World Cup trophy to the winning team as per the standard practice after the finals on 29th March. The trophy was handed over to the winning team by ICC Chairman N. Srinivasan breaching standard practice. Kamal made controversial remarks on the poor quality of umpiring during the India-Bangladesh Quarter Finals match on 19th March, due to which he was denied the responsibility of handing over the trophy as ICC President.
