The International Cricket Council, ICC organized a two day workshop in Dubai on sharing best practices in anti corruption measures to protect the integirity of the game of cricket from challenges like match fixing, betting syndicates and so on. The workshop was organized by the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit , ACSU.The Heads of eight out of the 10 domestic anti-corruption units of the full members took part in the deliberations at the ICC headquarters in Dubai on Thursday. The ICC Anti corruption Unit chief Yogendra Pal Singh said discussions were focused on information gathering and sharing the best practices to develop mechanisms to counter the challenges ahead.He said that those individuals who are motivated to corrupt the sport of cricket know no geographical boundaries and only a coordinated approach at international and domestic level will achieve success in protecting the integrity of the sport. They also discussed issues like multi-jurisdictional threats, cooperation in the investigations and ensuring robust regulatory frameworks and effective education systems.He said that the sport of cricket collectively has a zero-tolerance towards corruption and the ICC anti corruption unit will do everything to protect the integrity of the great game of cricket.
