The International Cricket Council (ICC) is investigating alleged corruption in Sri Lanka, which centres around a taped conversation, a Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) press release said. The nature of the corruption has not been specified . A copy of the conversation had been given to a Sri Lankan newspaper. However , no local media outlet has yet reported on any corruption allegations in Sri Lanka Cricket. It is not clear as to who has handed the copy to the newspaper. SLC said that it was made aware of the allegations on 9th of August and it handed over the tape to the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU), currently in the country for the Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL) . "The tape was handed over to an official of the ICC Anti Corruption and Security Unit [ACSU] currently in the country covering [the Sri Lanka Premier League]. Investigations are underway in coordination with the ICC," the statement said.
