In the ICC Cricket World Cup, Shaiman Anwar scored his maiden ODI ton as UAE set a target of 279 runs for Ireland in a Pool-B game at Brisbane today. UAE got off to a slow start after they were sent in to bat. They lost wickets at regular intervals, and were 131 for 6 in the 35th over.However, Shaiman Anwar, who had scored a brilliant 67 in UAE's last game against Zimbabwe, came to the crease and shared 107 runs for the seventh wicket with Amjad Javed to bring his team back on track. Anwar scored 106 and Amjad made 42 as UAE scored 78 runs in the last 8 overs.
