ICC Cricket World Cup quarterfinal round begins tomorrow

The quarterfinal round of the ICC Cricket World Cup is beginning with Pakistan taking on West Indies in Dacca on Wednesday. With all the top ranking teams lined up in the knockout round, the championship is getting into the most keenly contested phase. AIR correspondent reports, every match played hereon is a touch and go affair, where each team should must win to survive; or perish, if it doesn't. With the knockout phase unrolling, the top teams of world cricket are here again to put out their best and put their flaws behind to stay in the competition and move ahead. The league phase has indeed thrown up the better teams for the knockout round with no real surprises. And, looking to the present situation, it is clear that the reigning Champions Australia and the earlier ones West Indies, India, Pakistan and Srilanka are all here to put their claim on the coveted trophy once again. However, with no bar on uncertainties, cricket may yet churn out a new World beater this time who knows, from one of the teams New Zealand, England or South Africa.
