In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 pool B match at Brisbane, Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by 20 runs. Zimbabwe were all out for 215 in 49.4 overs. None of the Zimbabwe batsmen could withstand Pakistani onslaught except Taylor who top scored 50. Earlier, batting first, Pakistan scored 235 runs in the stipulated 50 over losing seven wickets. Captain Misbah-ul-Haq top scored with 73 runs for the team. Wahab Riaz was declared the Man of the Match. This encounter was a must win match for Pakistan as it decided the future course of the team towards the knock out stage.In the earlier, Pool A match at Wellington, Sri Lanka beat England by 9 wickets. Riding on Joe Root's 121, England posted 309 for 6 in the stipulated 50 overs. The Lankans reached the target in just 47.2 overs losing just one wicket. Unbeaten centuries from Thirimanne (139) and Sangakkara (117) helped Sri Lanka finish the match with 16 balls remaining.
