Chasing the victory target of 301 runs, set by India in their opening group match of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Adelaide Oval, Pakistan were 220 for the loss of nine wickets in 46 overs.India, after opting to bat first, got off to a pedestrian start, with Rohit Sharma heading back to the hut early. Virat Kohli, then, joined Shikhar Dhawan at the centre and both shared 129 runs for the second wicket rescuing the Indian innings. While Dhawan was run out for 73, Kohli amassed his 22nd ODI ton. Kohli was also involved in a 110-run stand with Suresh Raina whose end-of-innings theatrics helped the defending champions compile 300 for 7. Kohli made 107, Raina scored 74 off just 56 balls.
