In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, chasing a total of 308 South Africa were 74 for 2 in 17 overs, when reports last came in. In a Pool B clash at Melbourne Cricket Ground India scored 307 for 7 in stipulated 50 overs. For India Shikhar Dhawan top scored with 137 a superb steady century, Ajinkya Rahane played a quick innings of 79. Shikhar Dhawan's much debatable form came alive and helped India post a target of 308, a competitive score to chase. A miskew early on in the innings resulted Rohit Sharma's run out and it gave chill down the spines of Indian fans. Joining Shikhar Dhawan came in the middle batsman in form Virat Kohli. With all the caution, Dhawan and Kohli built a steady partnership of 127 runs. The platform was staged and when Kohli departed Rahane came with intent.Dhawan with Rahane again stitched a more than 100 run partnership but this time around it was swift. In the process, after few nervy moments at 99 Dhawan pulled one back to the boundary to score his century. Rahane aslo played quick innings of 79. India were looking good at least for 325 at a time, but Proteas pulled things back at the death. The game is evenly poised and we can't pick favourites at this moment, as this South African side has a lot of fire power in its armoury but Dhoni's men would look to break the jinx and march ahead in the World Cup.
