ICC Chief Lorgat dismisses as baseless reports on Indo-Pak match fixing

The International Cricket Council, ICC has dismissed reports in a British newspaper that Indian bookmakers were fixing results of English county games and overseas fixtures. The CEO of the ICC Haroon Lorgat, described a report in Britain's Sunday Times that it was probing last year's World Cup semi-final between India and Pakistan as baseless and misleading. In a statement, he said ICC has no reason or evidence to require an investigation into this match. Lorgat said such spurious claims only cause doubts on the semi-final of one of the most successful ICC Cricket World Cups ever. Meanwhile, BCCI has declined to comment on the report. BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla, who is also the IPLChairman, said unless they received something concrete from the ICC or any agency, they will not comment on the issue.
