ICC chief congratulates Nepal, Uganda for elevation to world league

The Chairman of the International Cricket Council, N. Srinivasan has congratulated Nepal and Uganda for their elevation to the ICC World Cricket League Division 2. Both these countries moved up the ladder to World Cricket League Division 2 which will be played in Namibia during January 17-24 next year. This is the final step in the qualification pathway to the ICC Intercontinental Cup, as well as the 50-over ICC World Cricket League Championship. Mr. Srinivasan said it reflects the ICC move to expand the game of cricket across the frontiers of the world. This will also provide Associate and Affiliate Members a clear pathway to Test cricket through the ICC Intercontinental Cup.
