The ICC has approved the reinstatement of the Feroz Shah Kotla ground in New Delhi as an international venue from the 1st January next year. According to a statement of ICC issued in Dubai today, the decision was taken following an inspection by the ICC Pitch Consultant, Andy Atkinson. The venue was suspended as an international ground since the abandonment of a one-day international between India and Sri Lanka in December 2009. The ICC General Manager Cricket, David Richardson has said that ICC is pleased with the remedial work carried out and with the playing surfaces now back to the standard expected for international matches.
