ICC accepts Anti-Corruption, Security Unit recommendations

The ICC has accepted the recommendations of the Chairman of the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit. It includes the requirement of every Full Member country to appoint a designated full-time security manager and also the establishment of minimum standards and best practice guidelines for safety and security. ICC Security Task Force was set-up after the Lahore attack in March 2009. ICC President David Morgan said in Dubai last evening, that the ICC has agreed to conduct urgent product research and analysis as a part of the process which is looking at providing greater context to Test, ODI and Twenty20 International cricket outside the major ICC events. Expressing satisfaction on the Decision Review System, he said they will discuss further technological improvements with broadcasters in March to improve and refine the DRS further. The ICC has also decided to invite expressions of interest in hosting the ICC Champions Trophy, scheduled for May and June 2013 while ICC Board has approved the ANZ Stadium in Sydney as an international venue. Apart from other members ICC President David Morgan, Vice-President Sharad Pawar and Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat were present in the meeting.
