The Union Minister of state for Agriculture Tariq Anwar said that Indian Council of Agriculture Research to expend its activities in the eastern states to boost food production in the country. He said at a review meeting of the ICAR’s activities in seven states Bihar, Eastern UP, West Bengal, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Jharkhand in Patna today. Anwar said eastern region has great potential to lap its agriculture resources. He also said that eastern states including Bihar and West Bengal farmers are yet to wrap full advantage of the fertile land and availability of ground water.
