Ibobi re-elected as new CLP leader

In Manipur, incumbent state Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh has been re-elected as the new leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) of the state for the third time in a row. Briefing media persons at Imphal this afternoon, AICC General Secretary and Manipur in-charge of the Party, Luizinho Faleiro said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi has appointed Mr. Ibobi Singh as the new leader of the CLP. He further said that the CLP meeting of the newly elected legislators of the state held on the seventh of this month, had unanimously agreed to authorize the Congress High Command to appoint the new CLP leader to lead the new government in the state.After the election of the new CLP leader of the state, the process for the formation of a Congress Government in the state has been accelerated.Mr. Ibobi Singh who was also present at the press briefing today told media persons that he will stake claim to form the new government within two days.Expressing gratitude to the people of the state for reposing faith to the Party for the third consecutive term, Mr. Singh said that it will be a great challenge for him and the Congress Party as well to fulfill the aspirations of the people this time as their expectations are very high.
