Information and Broadcasting Secretary Bimal Julka has reviewed the readiness of domestic set top boxes (STBs) manufacturers to meet the demand of 11 crore STBs for Phase III and IV of cable television digitization in the country.Mr Julka held a meeting in New Delhi on Friday in this regard during which the manufacturers assured him that they have sufficient installed capacity to meet the demand of STBs locally.The indigenious production of STBs would help to generate employment to about 50,000 people and would attract an investment of about Rs. 500 crore.
