Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore today said, the ministry has always respected decisions of Central Board for Film Certification and has never tried to interfere in its affairs. He told reporters in New Delhi , that final call on the film Messenger of God lies with Film Certification Appellate Tribunal.

Colonel Rathore said, the ministry has not received any resignation letter from the Board's Chairperson Leela Samson. Ms. Samson is reported to have resigned following the clearance given to Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's film Messenger of God by the Film Certification Appellate Tribunal.

He also added, the entire censor board was placed by the previous government. None of the members of the board have been changed and no additional member has been put in. The Minister clarified that the extension of the members that the chairperson is talking of has been granted to the entire board.
