The Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs. Ambika Soni has said that her Ministry is examining the Prasar Bharti Act and whatever steps are required will be taken with regard to Presidential assent for inquiry by the Supreme Court into the charges against the Prasar Bharti CEO. She was replying to question on the issue from the media on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi today. The President had given her assent for the inquiry by the apex court against Mr. B.S. Lalli on charges of administrative and financial irregularities. On the BJP charge that the announcement of one-man inquiry into spectrum allocation is a breach of privilege of Parliament, Mrs. Soni said that the probe has been ordered by the Telecom department and she does not think that it is a violation of any kind. She alleged that it appears the BJP is objecting to it because it does not want that people to know what happened during the NDA rule.
