I&B Minister says initial hiccups in GST implementation will be sorted out soon

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday said the country attained economic independence with the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) . He was speaking at the GST nationwide programme organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in Hyderabad. <br/><br/>Mr Naidu said there will be initial hickups in implementing the GST and exuded confidence that they will be sorted out soon. He said common people will be benefited due to implementation of 'one nation -one tax'. Mr Naidu said the GST is a revolution in taxation transformation in Indian History.<br/><br/>He termed the GST is the culmination of combined efforts of political leadership, bureaucracy and wisdom of people. Stating that some sections are spreading apprehensions, the minister said the need of the hour is to create awareness about GST among the stakeholders. <br/><br/>He asked them to make it a success in quick time, as the country has taken a huge stride towards unleashing its economic potential through GST. Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, on this occassion said, implementation of GST will create more employment.
