Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu today said the credibility and accountability of AIR news remains unblemished. He asked the officials and staff to continue their good work. He asked the AIR News to focus on truth and stay away from sensationalism, indecency and violence that is detrimental to the interests of the nation. <br/><br/>He visited AIR Hyderabad Kendra for the first time. The Minister asked the AIR to take forward the cultural heritage, high values and family system. He also said Mann Ki Baat of the Prime Minister proved that Radio is Powerful medium to reach the masses.<br/><br/>Recalling his childhood days and early political career, Mr Naidu said people used to listen to Radio news at Panchayats and discuss the contemporary political developments. He said, Radio made him popular and took his speeches to people at large.<br/><br/>Later, he visited Doordarshan Hyderabad kendra where he reviewed the work of various media units of the Ministry. <br/><br/>While reviewing activities of Doordarshsn, MIB asked officials to be innovative and compete with private channels. He laid stress on upgradation of technology. Referring to revenue, the minister asked to have revised targets and focus on revenue generation. Venkaiah Naidu asked all media units to highlight ongoing Tiranga Yatra across the country.
