I&B Minister condoles A K Hangal’s death

Information and Broadcasting minister Ambika Soni has condoled the death of veteran actor A K Hangal. In a message, Ms Soni said, Indian cinema has lost one of its most outstanding character artists. She said through his memorable roles, A K Hangal has weaved generations together.

Veteran actor, Avtar Kishen Hangal passed in Mumbai today after a brief illness. He was 95. Hangal was admitted to a Mumbai hospital on August 16th after he suffered a back injury due to a fall. The veteran actor had acted in over 200 films and is best known for his roles in Namak Haram, Sholay, Garam Hawa, Satyam Shivam Sunderam and Shaukin .
