Information and Broadcasting Minister Arun Jaitley today lauded the work of photojournalists, saying they make an immense contribution to the nation.<br/><br/>Speaking at the 5th National Photography Awards ceremony in New Delhi, Mr Jaitley said words have a transient life but good photographs get imprinted in memory.<br/><br/>Stating that a photographer's work is not an easy one, he expressed wonder at how some photographs become moments of history.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports Bhawan Singh, an eminent photojournalist, has been given the Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr Singh has experience of working in news industry for over five decades.<br/><br/>Srinagar based Javed Ahmed Dar bagged the Professional Photographer of the Year Award while Himanshu Thakur from Delhi was awarded Amateur Photographer of the Year.<br/><br/>National Photography Awards honours the grandeur of creativity and vision and also promotes creativity of amateurs in the field.<br/><br/>
