I&B Minister Anurag Thakur visits FTII and NFAI in Pune

<span style="color: #222222;">Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday visited the Film and Television Institute of India and National Film Archive of India in Pune. He held a review meeting with officials. Information and Broadcasting Secretary Apoorva Chandra and FTII President Shekhar Kapoor accompanied him.<br />''<br />'' Speaking after the review meetings, the Minister said, FTII is a prestigious institution in India and efforts are being made to take the institute to the global level.<br />''<br />''Mr. Thakur said that the efforts are also being made to make the institute known internationally by making the most of the latest technology so that global-level experts should come to teach at the institute and a large number of foreign students should also come for education.<br />''<br />''The Minister said, preservation of Indian culture and traditions is a top priority of the government and films are the part of our rich cultural heritage. Under the Central Government's Film Heritage Preservation Programme, more than 5,900 rare old and new films will be preserved and 363 crore rupees will be spent for this, he said. This is probably the biggest initiative in the world to preserve films, he added. </span><br />
